It’s almost that time of the year…

    December is just beginning, but numerous best-ofs already made their appearance. Here are some of them:

    • ‘Twitter’ is the most used word in the English language-speaking world for 2009, with ‘Obama’ and ‘H1N1′ (politically correct name for ‘Swine Flu’) following close by. The same Global Language Monitor presented ‘King of Pop’ as top phrase of 2009. (via 5 Blogs Before Lunch);

    For a list of best ads of the decade The Guardian is the place to check (via BrandStrategy);

    Bing, Google and Yahoo already released their top searches for 2009. But what about the month ahead?;

    Youtube’s most popular videos in 2009;

    • At Pitchfork those musical aspects of the decade fell under review;

    Also, Richard Brody of The New Yorker presents us with a list of the best movies of the past decade.
